SDS drill bits type

No, not all SDS (Slotted Drive System) drill bits are the same. There are different types and classifications of SDS drill bits. Here are some common types:

1) **SDS-Plus:** This is the most common type of SDS drill bit. It features a 10mm shank and is suitable for light to medium-duty applications and smaller diameter holes. Sometimes you will use it when the job doesn't demand a larger hole or when you're working close to the edge. Especially when working close to the edge, a smaller, less powerful drill is preferable because it reduces the risk of chipping off a piece of concrete from an outside edge.

2) **SDS-Max:** SDS-Max drill bits have a larger 18mm shank and have an improved torsional strength which means that it can be driven at higher speeds and still maintain its force without breaking. When drilling into reinforced concrete, bits will inevitably encounter more resistance due to rebar and aggregate that are densely packed in. This is where having a higher torque and increased force will save you time.

3) **SDS-Top:** SDS-Top bits have a 14mm shank and With a variety of diameters and lengths, these stop bits provide a solution for the most common anchor applications.

4. **SDS-TE-S:**  SDS-TE-S bits are mostly for chiseling and demolition applications.

When choosing an SDS drill bit, consider factors such as the type of material you'll be drilling into, the size of the hole needed, and the type of SDS-compatible tool you have. Additionally, the quality and material of the drill bit can affect performance and durability.
